§ 32.001 SALARIES.
   (A)   The following salaries are hereby established for elected village officials.
      (1)   Mayor. The Mayor shall receive a salary of $600 per month.
      (2)   Trustees. The Village Trustees shall receive $90 per regular, emergency or special meeting. The meeting at which a Trustee leaves office or takes office shall be compensated. There is no compensation for committee meetings.
      (3)   Village Clerk. The Village Clerk shall be paid a salary of $250 per month, plus hourly compensation in the amount of $16 per hour for administrative work in the village office outside the official duties of the Village Clerk such as filing, utility billing and the like.
      (4)   Village Treasurer. The Village Treasurer shall be paid the sum of $8,220 per year.

   (B)   (1)   Elected. No salary or compensation of any elected municipal officer who is elected for a definite term of office shall be increased or diminished during such term.
      (2)   Appointed. No salary or compensation of any appointed official who is appointed for a definite term of office shall be decreased during such term, but may be increased.

Editor’s note:
   The salary of appointed officials and employees may be established in the appropriation ordinance or annual budget. The salary of elected officials must be established in an ordinance other than the appropriation ordinance at least six months prior to the general municipal election in which voting is held for those offices.
   The salaries of elected officials who hold elective office for a definite term shall neither be increased nor diminished during that term and shall be fixed at least 180 days before to a general municipal election in which voting is held for those offices.
