Any initial building permit issued under the provisions of this chapter shall expire within 18 months of the date of its issuance. After the expiration of the initial building permit, the permit holder may make application in person to the village’s Board of Trustees for one 18-month renewal permit if said application is accompanied by an additional permit fee equal to the initial permit fee. Nothing herein shall require the Village Clerk, Mayor, Village Board of Trustees or any officer or employee of the village to issue a building permit or renew the same and no more than one renewal permit shall be issued to any permit holder.
