(A) In addition to the actions authorized by other sections of this chapter, the village may proceed under the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/11-31-1, which authorizes the demolition, repair, or enclosure of unsafe and dangerous buildings or uncompleted and abandoned buildings, and/or the removal of garbage, debris, and other hazardous, noxious, or unhealthy substances or materials from the buildings, or under the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/11-31-1.01, which authorizes the securing or enclosing of abandoned residential property, by applying to the Circuit Court for an order for the owners to do so and which authorizes a lien when the village is compelled to take action.
(B) The village may also proceed under the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/11-31-2, which authorizes an injunction to require compliance with building, fire, health, and safety standards.
