As used in this chapter, certain terms and words are defined as follows:
(a) "Dwelling unit" means a single-family residence or a flat or apartment in a multifamily building.
(b) "Garbage" means any waste or refuse, or animal, fruit or vegetable matter, whether liquid or otherwise, which attends the preparation, use, cooking, dealing in or storage of meat, fish, fowl, fruit or vegetables.
(c) "Mechanical garbage disposal" means a motorized device suitable for installation under and in direct connection with a kitchen sink, which comminutes garbage to such a size as to be readily waterborne and causes the discharge of the comminuted garbage directly into a sanitary sewerage system.
