(a) Designs. The design of an individual sewage disposal system must take into consideration location, with respect to wells or other sources of water supply, topography, water table, soil characteristics, available area and maximum occupancy of the building.
(b) Types of Systems. The type of system to be installed shall be determined on the basis of location, soil characteristics, available area and maximum occupancy of the building.
(c) Sanitary Sewers. The system shall be designed to receive all sanitary sewage, including laundry waste, from the building. Drainage from basement floors, footings or roofs shall not enter the system, except through the filter drain as specified in Section 915.08(e).
(d) Discharge. The system shall consist of a septic tank discharging into a subsurface disposal field.
(e) Alternate Designs. Where soil conditions are such that the system mentioned in subsection (a) hereof cannot be expected to operate satisfactorily, approval of an alternate design shall be secured from the Building Commissioner with the concurrence of the proper health authorities having jurisdiction.
