143.15 POLICE/SAFETY OFFICER.
   (a)   Each member of the Police Department, including but not limited to the Chief of Police and the departmental secretary, who is not a member of the collective bargaining unit subject to the agreement by and between Orange Village and the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #57, and who becomes and remains duly accredited as an “Emergency Medical Technician- Ambulance,” as said term is defined in the Ohio Revised Code, shall be deemed a ‘Police/Safety Officer.’ (Ord. 2007-18.    (b)   Each Police/Safety Officer shall receive, in addition to his/her regular compensation as a member of the Police Department, additional compensation in an amount equal to, and in the same manner as, that compensation paid to a member of Orange Village and the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #57, Orange Division for maintaining an EMT certification.

   (c)   Each Police/Safety Officer shall be responsible for maintaining the certificates referenced above. Failure to maintain the required certificates or not performing the required duties of a Police/Safety Officer will result in the cessation of the above referenced additional compensation.
