125.11 DEPOSIT OF FUNDS; SAFEGUARDING FUNDS.
   (a)   Any Village employee whose duties include collecting money on behalf of the Village shall remit such funds to the Treasurer of the Village or to a properly designated depository of the Village on the business day next following the day of receipt, if the total amount of such moneys received exceeds one thousand dollars ($1,000).
   (b)   If the total amount of the public moneys so received does not exceed one thousand dollars ($1,000), the Village employee who receives such moneys shall remit such funds to the Treasurer of the Village or to a properly designated depository of the Village within three business days next following the day of receipt of the moneys.
   (c)   Any Village moneys coming into the possession of a Village employee shall be safeguarded until such time as said moneys are deposited with the Village Treasurer or a properly designated depository, as provided for herein. If the moneys remain in the Village Hall, the moneys shall be deemed “safeguarded” if they are kept in a locked container located within an area of the Village Hall which is either not accessible to the public or only accessible to the public during regular business hours.
