The Police Department of the Municipality shall be administered by a Police Chief appointed by the Mayor subject to confirmation by a vote of four (4) members of Council. The Police Department shall preserve the peace, protect persons and property, and obey and enforce all ordinances of Council, and all criminal laws of the State of Ohio and of the United States, and perform such other duties as are provided by ordinance or resolution of Council.
