All pedestrians who cross streets at street intersections shall cross at right angles with the general traffic and shall not cross diagonally. He or she shall wait for the signal of the traffic officer, where one is stationed, and move in the direction of the traffic only. He or she shall obey the signals or orders of traffic or police officers given in the furtherance of traffic regulations.
