139.02 PHYSICAL EXAMINATIONS.
   (a)   From and after the effective date of this section, no person shall be appointed a police officer of this City unless such person has no earlier than sixty days prior to appointment passed a physical examination given by a licensed physician designated by the Mayor and to be paid for by the City.
 
   (b)   The examination shall include a complete medical history, complete clinical evaluation, urinalysis, serology tests, pulmonary function tests, blood variables tests, resting heart rate and blood pressure test, and such other tests and examinations as are necessary to determine whether the individual is physically and mentally qualified to serve as a police officer in the opinion of the examining physician.
 
   (c)   A report of such physical examination including a statement by the physician that the individual is free from cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases shall be submitted to the Mayor and shall be available for inspection by Council.
