As used in this chapter, words have their common and ordinary meanings, unless they are technical words, in which case they have their technical meanings, except that:
(a) "Carbon monoxide detector" means a device designed to continuously monitor indoor air for the presence of carbon monoxide and to activate before carbon monoxide reaches unsafe concentrations by emitting an audible alarm.
(b) “Multiple dwelling” means a building containing two or more dwelling units sharing a common wall, floor-ceiling assembly or other area, or one or more dwelling units sharing a common wall, floor-ceiling assembly or other area where the space containing a use is other than a dwelling.
(c) "Smoke detector" means a device which is designed to detect the visible and invisible products of combustion and emit an audible alarm upon such detection.
