(a) Work requiring approval by the Residential Code of Ohio adopted herein shall not proceed until fees have been paid as required by Chapter 1448 and a permit has been issued. No amendment to a permit shall be approved until the additional fee, if any, due to an increase in the estimated cost of the building or structure, has been paid.
(b) In addition to the requirements of the Residential Code of Ohio, approvals and permits shall be required for the following work:
(1) Accessory structures less than 200 square feet.
(2) Fences.
(3) Driveways and sidewalks over 50 square feet.
(4) Swimming pools over 18 inches deep.
(5) Kitchen cabinets or countertops.
(6) Decks less than 200 square feet whether attached or not attached to the structure.
(c) Standards of construction for approvals required by this section shall be those of the current Residential Code of Ohio. Permit fees shall be paid as required by Chapter 1448.
