(a) Upon the submission by an employee, including the Supervisor of the Streets Department, of an affidavit or other proof satisfactory to the Director of Finance specifying the loss by the employee of wages or other benefits occasioned by an appearance in a court of law or other judicial or administrative proceeding, the Director shall cause the reimbursement of such loss in the normal course of Municipal business. Reimbursement shall only be made when such appearance was made in an official capacity or in conjunction with official duties and then only if the appearance was required by subpoena from an adverse party or an authorized board or commission, or by the Law Director.
(b) All reasonable and necessary expenses incurred by the employee, in connection with such appearance or preparation for such appearance, shall be similarly reimbursed upon presentation of proper documentation, whether or not wages or other benefits were lost.
