242.04 CERTIFICATION OF FIREFIGHTERS AS PARAMEDICS.
   (a)   As used in this section, a "Paramedic" (Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic) shall be as defined in Ohio R.C. 3303.08, as amended from time to time.
   (b)   All applicants taking the examination for original appointment to the Fire Department from and after the effective date of this section (Ord. 76-93, passed November 23, 1993) shall be, at the time that the said examination is given, certified as a Paramedic in accordance with Ohio R.C. 3303 08 through 3303.99, as amended from time to time. In addition, such applicants, should they be appointed to the Fire Department, shall maintain their status as State Certified Paramedics during their tenure of employment with the City in accordance with such provisions of the Ohio Revised Code. Failure to comply with this section shall be a violation of the continuing conditions of employment as a Firefighter/Paramedic in the City and shall be grounds for immediate dismissal.
