(a) As of the effective date of this section (Ordinance 76-49, passed June 8, 1976), the Prosecutor shall be removed from the jurisdiction of the Law Director and the Law Director shall no longer have authority to appoint a Prosecutor.
(b) The Mayor is hereby authorized to appoint a Prosecutor subject to confirmation by the affirmative vote of a majority of the members elected to Council.
(c) The Prosecutor shall be compensated for all services at a rate established from time to time by Council plus actual reasonable and necessary expenses incurred and accounted for.
(d) The Law Director may, but shall not be required to, act as a City Prosecutor in addition to the Prosecutor appointed by the Mayor and shall, in any case, render such advice and counsel to the Prosecutor as may be necessary for the adequate fulfillment of the Prosecutor's responsibilities.
