Each elective officer of the Municipality shall be an elector of the Municipality, shall have resided continuously therein for not less than one (1) year immediately preceding his election, and shall continue to reside therein during his term of office. Each officer elected from a ward shall have resided continuously in that ward for not less than one (1) year immediately preceding his election and shall continue to reside therein during his term of office.
A resident of territory annexed to this Municipality shall be declared to have met these residency requirements if he has resided in such territory for not less than one (1) year immediately preceding his election and if he continues to reside therein during his term of office.
