(A) Any person violating any of the provisions or failing to comply with any of the mandatory requirements of any ordinance of the city is guilty of a misdemeanor. Except in cases where a different punishment is prescribed by any ordinance of the city, any person convicted of a misdemeanor under the ordinances of the city shall be punished by a minimum fine of $50 and not to exceed $500 or by imprisonment not to exceed 12 months, or by both such fine and imprisonment. When the violation of an ordinance is also a violation of a state law, then the punishment for the violation of the ordinance shall be the same as the punishment for the state law.
(B) Each person is guilty of a separate offense for each and every day during any portion of which any violation of any provision of the ordinances of the city is committed, continued, or permitted by any such person, and he or she is punishable accordingly.
(C) Each person must be notified they are in violation of an ordinance before a penalty is assessed. The person will then be given a grace period of seven days to comply with the ordinance.
