(A) In any residential or business zone, a wall or fence of not more than six feet in height may be erected or maintained within a front yard or side street yard. A fence of not more than eight feet in height may be erected in any other yard. No height restriction shall be placed on a wall or fence in an industrial zone. The height of a wall or fence shall be measured by the vertical distance from the average established grade at the fence or wall to the top of the fence or wall.
(B) No barb wire fences shall be permitted in a residential zone or manufactured home park. No barb wire shall be allowed along any boundary adjoining a residential zone or manufactured home park unless such wire is located not less than six feet above ground level. Protective devices utilizing barbed wire may be installed upon walls or fences constructed or used in conjunction with nonconforming commercial or industrial uses in a residential zone. All fencing and wall material shall be conventional fencing and wall material appropriate to current construction standards and installed to manufacturers and applicable code requirements.
