The natural gas line distribution system shall be installed with not less than 24 inches of ground cover as provided for in the city’s contract with Hall Contracting Corporation except in those locations where the same has been installed in a common trench with other utility lines of the city. In such locations, less than 24 inches of ground cover shall be permitted so long as the contractor has otherwise provided adequately for prevention of damage to the pipeline by external forces and is in all aspects approved and accepted by the United States.
