(A) The keeping of livestock in any place in the city, except upon acreage of farm land, so as to be offensive to the sight, hearing, or smell of the inhabitants of the city, or any of them, is hereby declared to be a nuisance and is prohibited, if upon written complaint to the Mayor or Council, it is determined by a majority vote of the City Council that such keeping of livestock is offensive to the sight, hearing, or smell to the inhabitants of the city; however, no poultry, swine, or ratites shall be kept for commercial purposes within the city limits upon consisting of less than five contiguous acres.
(B) This section shall take full force and effect immediately upon publication as required by KRS 83A.060.
