No person shall serve more than three (3) consecutive terms on the same board or committee; providing, that any person serving on a board, commission or committee of the city, as of the date of passage of the ordinance codified in this chapter, shall be allowed to serve, if appointed, for an additional three (3) terms after the expiration of said person's current term.
