The city of Okmulgee street and highway plan as designated in the Okmulgee comprehensive plan, hereinafter referred to as the major street plan, as adopted by the Okmulgee city council, is hereby made a part hereof. All public streets hereafter constructed shall be built and named in accordance with that plan. Hereafter, all newly constructed or renamed thoroughfares will be designated streets if they are aligned generally east to west, and designated as avenues or roads if they are aligned generally north to south. Hereafter, all newly constructed or renamed thoroughfares will be designated with a number as the name of the street, if they are located in the southern portion of the city and are generally aligned east to west.
