A meter location shall be provided for the building or premises to be served, and the location shall be such that the meter connections are easily accessible in order that the meter may be read or changed. No gas meter shall be hereafter installed under a stoop, stairway, show window, or porch, or near a furnace, boiler, or other heating appliance. No meter shall be placed in any other location where it will be inaccessible or liable to injury. Location, dimensions and type of installation shall be designated by the gas company.
