13.42.490: AREA OF SPECIAL FLOOD HAZARD NOTICE FOR TENANTS:
   A.   Every owner of real property, any part of which is located in an area of special flood hazard as depicted and shown on a flood insurance rate map adopted by the city, is hereby required to notify in writing every tenant of the real property of the location of the property in an area of special flood hazard and to obtain and keep for inspection upon request by the city manager or his authorized representative written acknowledgment of the receipt of the notice signed by each of the tenants.
   B.   The notice shall be given and the acknowledgment thereof obtained prior to any of the tenants taking possession of or occupying the real property or, in the case of property already rented or leased prior to the effective date of this provision, within sixty (60) days after its adoption and publication. The notice and acknowledgment shall be in a separate document and not contained within any other document, such as a lease. (Ord. 1969, 2011)
