13.04.170: INSPECTION AUTHORITIES; CREDENTIALS:
   A.   Officers and employees of the water and sewer department and the fire marshal's office, whose duty it may be to enter upon private premises to make inspection of pipes and fixtures or attachments used in connection with the city's water lines, will be provided with a badge, an official city uniform, and/or other credentials to identify them as officers and employees of the city. Any city officer or employee so identified shall have free access to the grounds of any premises supplied with city water under this code, and during normal business hours to those portions of the structures where water meters or fire suppression systems are located for the purpose of making any inspection of a water connection upon the premises. In case any employee is refused admittance to any premises or is prevented from making such inspection, the supervisor of the water and sewer department may cause the water to be turned off from the premises forthwith.
   B.   No person not an officer or employee of the water and sewer department shall have, wear, or exhibit any badge or credentials of the department. It shall be the duty of every officer or employee of the water and sewer department upon resignation or dismissal from the department forthwith to surrender and deliver to the department at the supervisor's office all badges and credentials of the department in his possession.
