Nothing contained in this chapter shall prohibit the police chief from following the procedures established by applicable laws of the state of Oklahoma governing the sale and disposition of abandoned vehicles including, but not limited to, 47 Oklahoma Statutes section 901 et seq., or its successor, or of personal property specifically, but not limited to, the provisions of 11 Oklahoma Statutes section 34-104 et seq., as an alternative to the procedures for disposing of wrecked or inoperable motor vehicles or inoperable trailers as set forth in this chapter.
