A. The City Council by Resolution and/or Ordinance shall determine the fees to be charged for impounding and keeping animals.
B. Any person redeeming an impounded animal shall pay a forty dollars ($40.00) impoundment fee and ten dollars ($10.00) per day housing fee per animal to the city clerk or his/her designee and present receipt for payment to the animal control officer or person in charge of the pound before the latter releases the animal. Any veterinary expenses incurred for the benefit of the impounded animal are the responsibility of the animal's owner and shall be paid by the owner with evidence of payment presented to the city clerk or his/her designee prior to release of the animal to the owner.
