The animal control officer, a police officer, or such other officer or employee of the city of Okmulgee as the city manager may authorize, shall take into custody and impound any animal found at large or in violation of any provisions of the ordinances of the city. The animal control officer, a police officer, or such other officer or employee of the city of Okmulgee as the city manager may authorize, shall also take into custody and impound any animal that is trapped by a property owner after the animal was found on the property owner's land. In taking an animal into custody under authority of this title, the animal control officer or other employee may enter onto open areas of private property to gain custody of the animal.
