1.04.120: RETENTION OF CITY OWNED VIDEO:
Video media recorded from normal daily surveillance cameras on city owned facilities shall be stored and maintained for a period of ninety (90) days and on or after the ninety first day shall be purged either manually or automatically. Video involving active or anticipated investigations, legal action or active or anticipated complaints may be stored separately and shall be maintained in the custody of the city manager or his/her designee and shall not be purged, deleted or destroyed without written authorization from either the city manager or the city attorney.
Video media collected by city of Okmulgee police department in- car video equipment shall be maintained for a period of ninety (90) days and on or after the ninety first day shall be purged either manually or automatically. Video involving physical arrests, pursuits or uses of force shall be attached electronically to the police report and shall not be purged, deleted or destroyed without written authorization from the chief of police. Video of active or anticipated investigations, legal action or complaints may be maintained separately by the chief of police and shall not be purged, deleted or destroyed without his/her written authorization.
Video media collected by city of Okmulgee police department body worn video equipment shall be maintained for a period of ninety (90) days and on or after the ninety first day shall be purged either manually or automatically. Video involving arrests, pursuits (vehicular or foot pursuits), or use of force shall be attached electronically to the police report and shall not be purged, deleted or destroyed without written authorization from the chief of police. Video involving active or anticipated investigations, legal action or complaints may be maintained separately in the custody of the chief of police and shall not be purged, deleted or destroyed without his/her written authorization.
