It is the policy of Ogden City Corporation that city purchased computer hardware and software are requested and purchased through the IT division. With department director and IT approval, departments may purchase certain computer accessory equipment, software, and desktop printers directly from vendors of their choice as per subsection 1410-3C of this policy. Additionally, with department director approval, employees may choose to privately purchase desktop or mobile computing devices or software that they use for city business purposes. The city shall not participate in private purchases of hardware, software, or services. Employees conducting city business on privately purchased computing devices are required to comply with all applicable laws and policies, including the Utah government records access and management act.
