(a) Whenever burial is to be made, notice must be given at the office of the City Manager or Cemetery Sexton forty-eight hours previous to interment.
(b) The lot holder must give the City a written order to allow a friend to be buried in his or her lot.
(c) No interment may be made unless the body is accompanied by a burial permit. (This is the general procedure followed by the funeral director.)
(d) All Cemetery lots will be paid for before the time of burial. All remaining spaces contracted for or reserved must be paid for within thirty days. A deed will be issued only when two or more burial spaces are purchased, and then only upon completed payment for the burial space.
(e) Only one burial vault will be permitted per burial space, but three cremations will also be allowed on the burial space in addition to the one burial. On spaces where there are cremations, markers must be set so that four names can be allowed at the head of a normal grave space. For all cremations, a charge will be made for opening and closing. Cremations will be made for members of the immediate family only.
The City Manager is authorized to lay out and designate a cremation section in Westwood Cemetery, and such spaces in each cremation section will be four square feet. All markers in the cremation section shall be flush with the ground and shall not be larger than sixteen inches by eight inches. Spaces must be purchased consecutively.
(f) Parties are advised to apply to the City Manager's office or the Sexton's office before setting the time of a funeral. Applications will be considered each in its own turn.
(g) On obtaining the permit for interment, all charges must be paid at the office of the City Manager. No interment will be allowed until paid for.
(h) Upon entering the Cemetery, all funerals will be under the charge of the Sexton, and each driver will be required to carefully observe and obey all signals and directions given.
(i) Memorial dealers shall abide by all rules of the Cemetery.
(j) All memorials in Section S and new sections to be developed must conform to regulations previously established.
(k) Corner posts shall be placed flush with the grave. Initials shall be cut in, not raised.
(l) Memorial dealers shall be required to apply for foundations by giving the length, width and thickness of the memorial to be set.
(m) The Cemetery officials will have the authority to place memorials on any given lot. Should any memorials become unsightly or a menace to visitors,the City shall have the right to remove the same at the expense of the owner. (1957 Code §921.10)
