6-2-2: ADMINISTRATION:
   A.   Electrical Inspection Department: There is hereby established for the village, an electrical inspection department for the purpose of regulating the installation, alteration and use of all electrical equipment within the village.
   B.   Electrical Inspectors: Effective January 1, 2022:
      1.   Compensation: The remuneration of the electrical inspector supervisor and the electrical inspector assistant for all electrical inspection work performed shall be as follows:
         a.   Electrical inspector supervisor: Ten thousand dollars ($10,000.00) per year.
         b.   Electrical inspector assistant: Seven thousand dollars ($7,000.00) per year.
   The compensation amounts listed above includes remuneration for any travel, mileage or miscellaneous expenses incurred while conducting official Village business.
   The remuneration of any additional part time electrical inspector(s), designated by the Director of Community Development, shall be one-half (½) of all electrical inspection fees collected under the applicable ordinances of the village relative to inspections actually performed by any part time electrical inspector.
   The Electrical Inspector Supervisor and Electrical Inspector Assistant are considered part-time employees of the Village and as such are not eligible for benefits including insurance and retirement plans. In addition, the policies and procedures outlined in the Village of Oak Lawn Employee Handbook are applicable to these positions, unless otherwise stated.
   C.   Salary Review: The salary figure for electrical inspector supervisor and electrical inspector assistant, as set forth in subsection B of this section, shall be reviewed on a semi-annual basis by the Director of Community Development, to determine whether it should be increased, decreased or remain as is. Said review shall consider the length of employment with the Village and will consist of a comparison between the salaries paid and the electrical permit and inspection fees received by the village during the previous six months. If a change is in order, it shall be brought forward to the board of trustees for consideration at the next available board meeting.
