10-1-4: COMPENSATION:

A. Generally: The chief of police and other police officers shall receive for their services amounts to be fixed by the village board from time to time.

B. Marshals: No marshal shall receive any compensation unless on duty by special order or direction of the chief of police, or in case of emergency, if ordered to perform duties. The compensation for services as a marshal shall be prescribed by the village board. (1951 Code 3-7, 3-12)
