7-1-9: INSPECTIONS:
   A.   Authority to Inspect, Purpose: The Fire Chief and/or his designated subordinates shall make or cause to be made frequent regular inspections to secure efficient supervision of all buildings, structures or places used either for manufacturing or commercial purposes, or occupied or frequented by large numbers of people, and all school buildings, public halls, churches, institutional buildings, theaters, multiple dwellings, and all places of amusement, recreation or employment:
      1.   To determine the safety of the occupants in the event of fire, panic or accident.
      2.   To examine the working order and repair of doors, fire escapes, fire fighting appliances, the condition and maintenance of exits, corridors, stairways and fire escapes and their approaches with regard to obstructions; the disposition, quantity, arrangement and protection of stock, combustible material and rubbish, heating devices and ovens, flammable liquids and explosives with regard to safety from fires and the protection of hazardous machinery, appliances and apparatus.
      3.   To ascertain whether the fire prevention regulations of the Village are being efficiently carried out 1 .
   B.   Right of Entry to Inspect: The Fire Chief, or his designated representative, and his subordinates are hereby empowered to enter a building, structure or premises for the purpose of determining whether such building, structure or premises has been or are being constructed and maintained in accordance with the fire prevention regulations of the Village.
   C.   Detailing of Inspectors: The Chief of the Fire Department may detail such members of the Fire Department as inspectors as shall from time to time be necessary. The said Chief shall recommend to the Village Manager the employment of technical inspectors, who, when such authorization is made, shall be selected by the Village Manager.
