§ 94.36 AMENDMENTS TO THE FIRE CODE.
   Amendments to the 2018 International Fire Code.
   Section 101.1. [Name of Jurisdiction]
      Insert: City of Oak Forest.
   Section 110.4. [Offense, Dollar Amount, Number of Days]
      Insert: violation of Fire Code, $500.00.
   Section 112.4. [Dollar Amount, Dollar Amount]
      Insert: $500.00, $750.00.
   Section 307.4.3. Portable outdoor fireplaces
      Insert: No exceptions.
   Section 308.1.4. Open-flame cooking devices
      Insert: Exceptions:
         • Single-family dwelling.
         • Where balconies and decks are protected by an automatic fire sprinkler system.
   Section 507.5.1 Where Required:
      Remove 400 feet, insert 300 feet, no exceptions.
   Add Section 901.11. Resetting Fire Alarm Systems. Upon activation of a fire alarm system, the system shall not be reset (restored to a secured or a
clear condition) by any person until a representative from the Fire Department is on the scene and directs the system to be reset.
   Add Section 901.12. Silencing Fire Alarm Systems. Upon activation of a fire alarm system, the system shall not be silenced (alarm devices shut off) by any person until a representative of the Fire Department is on the scene and directs the system to be silenced.
   Section 901.4.6.2.  Marking on Access Door. Provide an outside access door to the sprinkler riser valve room and fire pump room. Door must have label with 4" letters that read "Fire Sprinkler Room."
   Add Section 903.4.2. Add to end of section: An audible appliance shall be a 10 inch, 120VDC alarm bell, provided above the Fire Department connection.
Add Section 903.4.2.1. Exterior Appliances. A red 75cd, weather-proof strobe light shall be provided above the Fire Department connection. The strobe shall be supervised by the fire alarm system and shall only operate upon water flow activation.
   Add Section 903.4.2.3. Test Valves. Fire sprinkler system inspectors test valves shall be accessible at all times and located no more than 6 feet above the finished floor. On multiple riser systems, test valves shall be marked as to which riser and area it tests.
   Add Section 903.4.3. Floor Control Valves. Indicating control valves and water flow switches shall be provided at the point of connection to the riser on each floor in multiple- story buildings and shall be clearly labeled for firefighters to use.
   Add Section 903.4.4. Automatic Sprinklers. When a building has numerous rooms protected by the zoned sprinkler system, the Fire Department may require additional smoke detectors for a more rapid means to identify the location of smoke or fire.
   Add Section 905.3.9. Warehouse Storage. In all warehouse storage exceeding 50,000 square feet and where storage exceed 12 feet high, provide inside 2½ inch fire hose valves with 1½ inch reducer to a 1½ inch connection. Locate the valves at each door entrance to the warehouse and/or storage area. Provide additional 2½ inch fire hose valves so that no portion of the warehouse and/or storage area is more than 120 foot maximum travel distance to a fire hose valve. Show the location of all obstructions and/or racks on the drawing.
   The fire hose valves system piping shall be:
      • A separate riser piping system.
      • The 2½ inch valves shall be supplied by a minimum 4 inch with 2½ inch drops to each valve.
      • Where system pressures exceed 100 psi provide potter reduced pressure field adjustable type valves.
   Section 907.2 Where required - new buildings and structures [after section of this code] Insert: Where automatic sprinkler protection installed in accordance with section 903.1.3 or 903.1.2 is provided and connected to the building fire alarm system, automatic heat detection required by this section shall not be required. Fire alarm panels shall have single button silence and reset functions. A remote full function annunciator panel may be required by the fire code official. A document box shall be installed in a location that is in close proximity of the main fire panel. The box will be Red in color, at least 10 inches wide by 10 inches tall and contain a copy of the fire alarm and fire sprinkler (if applicable) plan. The box will be labeled as "FD Documents". The plan may be condensed and laminated.
   Add Section 907.5.2.3.4. Multi-tenant Group M. In single story, multi-tenant Group M building shall be "ring by tenant" activated by the fire sprinkler system flow switch for each space, manual and
automatic fire detection and shall include on outside, weatherproof, clear strobe over the entrance to each tenant space as directed by the Fire Department. All outside strobes shall be 75cd minimum.
   Add Section 912.3. Connections. Where a system allows, Fire Department connections shall be a 5 inch StorzTM connection with a Knox-boxTM locking cap and a 30-degree downturn.
   Add Section 913.4.2. Fire Sprinkler System. Fire pump test header. Provide a supervised OS&Y control valve on all fire pump test headers. Provide an outside test header on fire pump installations.
   Section 1003.1. Applicability. Insert at end of section: The provisions of Chapter 34 of the International Building Code shall not be used to eliminate the installation requirements for exit signs and means of egress illumination sytems.
   Section 1008.3.3. Rooms and Spaces. Insert: 6. All rooms containing the building's fire sprinkler, standpipe riser, and fire alarm control panel(s).
   Section 1103.5.3. [DATE BY WHICH SPRINKLER SYSTEMS MUST BE INSTALLED]
   Insert: as determined by AHJ.
   Section 1204.2.1.1. Pathways to Ridge.
      Insert (after pathways) ALL.
   Section 1204.2.1.2. Setbacks to Ridge.
      Insert: Eliminate everything after "occupying" and insert: Any roof areas, a setback of not less than 36" wide is required on both sides of a horizontal ridge.
   Section 1204.3.1. Perimeter Pathways.
      No exceptions.
   Section 1204.5. Buildings with Rapid Shutdown.
      After "permanent" insert: and reflective.
   Section 5605. Manufacture, Assembly, and Testing of Explosives, Explosive Materials and Fireworks are Prohibited. Exceptions:
   • The hand loading of small arms ammunition prepared for personal use and not offered for resale.
   • Pyrotechnic special effects application in accordance with NFPA 495 and NFPA 1126.
   Section 5704.2.9.6.1. Storage of Class I & II liquids in above-ground tanks outside of buildings is prohibited.
   Section 5706.4.4. Storage of Class I & II liquids in above-ground tanks outside of buildings is prohibited.
   Section 5806.2. Storage of flammable cryogenic liquids in stationary containers is prohibited.
   Section 6104.2. Remove 2000 gallons. Insert 1000 gallons.
