It is declared to be the policy and purpose of the governing body of the City of Oak Forest to extend to the eligible employees thereof, effective as of January 1, 2004, the benefits of the Hospital Insurance provisions of the Federal Social Security Act and amendments thereto, in pursuance to the policy, and to that purpose, the City Council and Mayor of the City of Oak Forest take action with the Social Security Division of the State Employees’ Retirement System of Illinois as may be required by applicable state and federal laws or regulations.
