(A) Findings.
(1) Oak Forest is an environmentally conscious community surrounded by forest preserves, located within a major urbanized area, and has a long history of volunteerism interested in resolving public issues; and
(2) Residents and businesses of Oak Forest have been enthusiastic in helping to promote conservation, efficiency, sustainability and education to help preserve our natural resources and protect our natural environment; and
(3) The City of Oak Forest wishes to formalize a process within government that will help identify "green issues" and seek ways toward which we, as a community, might better understand such issues and seek their resolution.
(B) A commission is hereby created and established, which shall be known as the Oak Forest Green Steps Commission.
