Pursuant to ILCS Ch. 65, Act 5, § 10-1-3, the Civil Service Commission shall classify all of the offices and places of employment in the city, except those offices and places excluded by ILCS Ch. 65, Act 5, § 10-1-17 and except for police officers and firefighters, who are subject to the jurisdiction of the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners.
