§ 32.116 ASSISTANT DIRECTOR AND STREET SUPERINTENDENT.
   (A)   There is established the office of Assistant Director of Public Works and Street Superintendent. These positions shall be appointed by the Mayor with the approval of Council. The term of the appointment shall begin at the start of the fiscal year, May 1, and expire on April 30 the final date of the fiscal year.
   (B)   (1)   The Director, Assistant Director or Street Superintendent may be removed during the term of the appointment by the Mayor, with the approval of Council.
      (2)   The grounds for removal may include job performance, alternate administrative procedures, departmental efficiency or otherwise. The Assistant Superintendent so removed shall have the right to a hearing before Council regarding the basis for removal.
   (C)   Subject to the direction of the Director of Public Works, the Assistant Director and Street Superintendent shall be responsible for the supervision of the Department of Public Works, as specified within their respective job descriptions.
