§ 32.075 FIRE CHIEF.
   (A)   Duties. The Fire Chief shall have the management and control of all matters and things pertaining to the Fire Department and of all personnel in the Department. All personnel shall be under the direction and supervision of the Chief. The Fire Chief shall report immediately to the City Administrator and then to the Mayor.
   (B)   Investigation of fires. The Chief shall cause all fires to be investigated, where the causes are undetermined or where the use of incendiaries is suspected, and shall maintain a record of the investigation and of the evidence in each case.
   (C)   Annual report. At the end of each calendar year, the Chief shall prepare and submit to the Mayor and Council a report of all fires that have taken place during the year, with the causes thereof, if ascertainable, and the number, a description and the value of all buildings damaged or destroyed.
   (D)   Records. The Chief shall maintain complete records of all business transactions in the Department and of all property placed in his or her custody or charge.
   (E)   Apparatus inspection. The Chief shall cause an inspection to be made at least annually, of all fire apparatus, equipment and houses and shall make his or her report findings and recommendations to the Mayor and Council in time for their consideration of the budget.
