(A) The Fire chief and the Deputy Chief shall be appointed by the Mayor, subject to the advice and consent of Council.
(B) The Board of Fire and Police Commissioners shall have the authority to appoint certified mobile intensive care unit technician/certified firefighters to the full-time Fire Department, with the approval of Mayor and City Council.
(C) The Board of Fire and Police Commissioners shall have the authority to appoint full-time members of the Department to promotional positions according to the Fire Department promotional Act (ILCS Ch. 50, Act 742) upon recommendation of the Fire Chief, with the approval of the Mayor and City Council.
(D) The Mayor, with consultation with the Fire Chief, shall have the authority to appoint part-time Fire Department positions.
