§ 153.19 HATCHWAYS, SCUTTLES AND SIMILAR OPENINGS.
   (A)   Wooden hatchways less than one and three-fourths inches thick solid wood shall be covered on the inside with 16-gauge sheet metal attached with screws at six-inch maximum centers around the perimeter.
   (B)   The hatchway shall be secured from the inside with a slide bar, slide bolt and/or padlock with a hardened steel shackle.
   (C)   Outside pin-type hinges shall be provided with nonremovable pins.
   (D)   Other openings exceeding 96 square inches with a least dimension exceeding eight inches shall be secured by metal bars, screens or grills in an approved manner.
