§ 151.167 CERTIFICATE OF HOUSING INSPECTION PREREQUISITE TO OPERATION, LEASE OR SALE; TERM.
   (A)   No multi-family dwelling structure shall be operated as rental housing unless the owner or landlord of the structure applies for and obtains a current and enforceable certificate of registration issued by the Community Development Director. The certificate of registration will be issued in the name of the owner and landlord for the specifically identified multi-family dwelling structure.
   (B)   No owner or landlord of a multi-family dwelling structure will contract for the sale of the structure, or lease a dwelling unit, without having first provided the buyer or lessee with a current and enforceable certificate of registration for the property made within one month prior to the date of the conveyance of the structure or lease of a dwelling unit.
   (C)   Every certificate of registration shall be issued for a period of one year from its date of issuance unless sooner revoked, and may be renewed for successive one-year periods.
