For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
BUILDING INSPECTION REVIEW BOARD. The review panel consisting of the Community Development Director or his or her designee, the Police Chief and the Fire Chief.
CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRATION. The certificate issued to a landlord or owner by the Community Development Director that demonstrates that the landlord’s or owner’s multi-family dwelling structure complies with the standards set forth in this subchapter.
CITY CODES. All applicable city building construction, maintenance, life safety and zoning codes, ordinances, rules and regulations including, without limitation, all applicable codes adopted and established in this Title XV.
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR. The currently appointed Community Development Director and his or her designee.
DWELLING UNIT. An individual dwelling unit in a multi-family dwelling structure arranged, designed and used as a rental residence or living quarters by one or more persons.
LANDLORD. The person who is in charge of the day to day management of a multi-family dwelling structure and may include the owner.
LESSEE. The person and any person claiming under that person, such as sub-lessees, who enters into a rental contract for a dwelling unit within a multi- family dwelling structure.
MULTI-FAMILY DWELLING STRUCTURE. A building containing three or more dwelling units.
OWNER. The person, people or entity who are the legal title holders of a multi-family dwelling structure or a dwelling unit.
