§ 151.150 DWELLING UNIT REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS.
   (A)   No dwelling conversion unit in a converted structure built prior to 1996 shall be in compliance unless the unit holds and maintains a current unrevoked certificate of registration issued by the city in the name of the current owner.
   (B)   Every certificate of registration shall be issued for a period of one year from its date of issuance unless sooner revoked, and may be renewed for successive annual periods.
   (C)   No certificate of registration shall be issued or renewed unless the completed application form is accompanied by payment of an annual registration fee. The annual registration fee shall be $5.
   (D)   The Building Commissioner is authorized to investigate and to issue new certificates of registration upon application therefor or renewal therefor, in the name of the owner. No certificate shall be issued unless the dwelling unit for which the certificate is sought is found, after inspection by the Building Commissioner or his or her designee, to meet all requirements of these codified ordinances and of applicable rules and regulations promulgated pursuant thereto. Each applicant shall be notified by the Building Commissioner in advance of the date and time of the inspection.
   (E)   An application for renewal of a certificate of registration shall be made 30 days prior to the expiration of the present certificate.
