§ 151.002 INTERNATIONAL RESIDENTIAL CODE.
   (A)   Adoption. The city adopts the 2018 International Residential Code and Referenced Standards and Appendices, as published by the International Code Council, as the Residential Code of the City of Oak Forest.
   (B)   Amendments to the 2018 International Residential Code.
      (1)   Section 101.1 [Name of Jurisdiction]
         Insert: The City of Oak Forest.
      (2)   Section 105.2 Work exempt from permit: Delete numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 9, 10.
      (3)   For buildings and structures in flood hazard areas as established on local flood insurance rate maps, locally adopted floodplain ordinances shall apply.
      (4)   Delete all references to wood foundations throughout the code, they are not allowed.
      (5)   ASCE 32-01 shallow foundation frost protection (FPSF) is not allowed.
      (6)   Exterior wall sheathing to a minimum of 7/16" thickness.
      (7)   Roof sheathing to be a minimum of ½" thickness.
      (8)   Provide 6-inch curb at the garage service door, or construct garage floor six inches (6") lower than adjoining floor. If a stairwell occurs in a garage a six inch (6") gas curb shall be provided around stairwell. The foundation wall can serve as the gas curb provided the highest elevation of the garage floor is six inches (6") below the top of foundation.
      (9)   An oil interceptor shall be required if a floor drain is installed in the floor of a garage.
      (10)   Gutters and Downspouts: All structures shall be provided with gutters and downspouts unless omission is specifically permitted by the Building Official.
      (11)   SWIMMING POOLS.
         1.   A pool or pool deck may not be located closer than six feet (6') from the property lines.
         2.   No portion of the pool shall be located at a distance less than ten feet (10') away from the main structure and/or any accessory structure or building.
         3.   No portion of the pool shall be located at a distance less then ten feet (10') away from any overhead power lines and five feet (5') away from underground power lines.
         4.   All pumps and filters, and pool water disinfection equipment installations shall not be less than six feet (6') from any property line, are not permitted in the side yard and may not be located less than ten feet (10') away from any structure.
         5.   All pools must be enclosed by a fence and all entries must be enclosed with gates not having a height less than four feet (4'). The fence enclosures shall not have openings in excess of four inches (4") in length. All gates shall be a self-closing and self latching type.
