§ 91.04  CEMETERY SUPERINTENDENT.
   (A)   Created. There is hereby created the position of Cemetery Superintendent.
   (B)   Duties. The Cemetery Superintendent shall have the general supervision and administration for the maintenance and perpetual care of the town cemetery, including, but not limited to:
      (1)   Recommending to the town such additional rules and regulations as may be necessary for the operation, maintenance, use and protection of the cemetery;
      (2)   Perform those duties required by the law and this chapter;
      (3)   Subdividing the cemetery into lots and grave sites;
      (4)   Maintaining a record of information and the location of the graves through the cemetery mapping computer program and preventing any lot from being used beyond its capacity;
      (5)   Keeping in proper repair the enclosure around the cemetery and preventing its being entered by animals and, so far as practical, preventing the destruction or defacing of any tablet or marker placed or erected therein;
      (6)   Keeping a duplicate plat of the cemetery and, at the request of any person wishing to purchase any of the lots or parts of lots, pointing out any of the lots or parts of lots for sale;
      (7)   Dig or cause to be dug and close or cause to have closed all graves in the cemetery;
      (8)   Mowing of all lots and graves at reasonable intervals and sodding of the surface of the graves to lot level;
      (9)   Removing dead flowers and trimming trees and shrubbery when needed;
      (10)   Raking and cleaning the lots and straightening of tilting stones or markers (this does not include repairing damaged stones, markers or memorials not damaged by the town);
      (11)   Supervise every interment and shall cover and neatly trim the grave immediately after the coffin is placed in the grave;
      (12)   Fill and trim all graves that have settled or may hereafter settle;
      (13)   Remove floral pieces or displays left on the grave as he or she deems it necessary for the appearance of the cemetery, but such floral pieces or displays shall not be removed sooner than five days after original placement, except in case of an emergency;
      (14)   Keep the streets, alleys, walks and avenues in the cemetery in good order and unobstructed so that every access can be had to any lot;
      (15)   Shall inform the owner of any lot or relatives of deceased persons buried in any lot of the requirement to place or to cause to be placed a suitable marker with the name of the deceased plainly inscribed thereon upon the grave of every person interred therein within 60 days of interment; and
      (16)   Perform such other duties that the Town Council shall direct.
