ORDINANCE NO. 19-44
AN ORDINANCE ENACTING AND ADOPTING A SUPPLEMENT TO THE CODE OF ORDINANCES FOR THE CITY OF OAKBROOK TERRACE, ILLINOIS
(SUPPLEMENT NO. 31)
   WHEREAS, the City of Oakbrook Terrace (the "City") is a home rule unit of local government under Article VII, Section 6 of the 1970 Illinois Constitution and except as limited by such Section, it may exercise any power and perform any function pertaining to its government and affairs; and
   WHEREAS, American Legal Publishing Corporation of Cincinnati, Ohio, has completed the 31st supplement to the Code of Ordinances of the City, which supplement contains all ordinances of a general and permanent nature enacted since the prior supplement to the Code of Ordinances of the City; and
   WHEREAS, American Legal Publishing corporation has recommended the revision or addition of certain sections of the Code of Ordinances which are based on or make reference to the sections of the Illinois Statutes; and
   WHEREAS, it is the intent of the Mayor and Aldermen of the City Council to accept these updated sections in accordance with the changes of the law of the state of Illinois; and
   WHEREAS, it is necessary to provide for the usual daily operation of the City and for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and general welfare of the City that this ordinance take effect at the earliest date possible.
   NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and City Council of the City of Oakbrook Terrace, DuPage County, Illinois, as follows:
   Section 1.   That the 31st supplement to the Code of Ordinances of the City as submitted by American Legal Publishing Corporation of Cincinnati, Ohio, and as attached hereto, be and the same is hereby adopted by reference as if set out in its entirety pursuant to the City's home rule powers.
   Section 2.   Such supplement shall be deemed published as of the day of its adoption and approval; the Mayor and the Clerk are hereby authorized to execute this ordinance, and the Clerk is further directed to insert said supplement into the Code of Ordinances kept on file in the Office of the City Clerk.
   Section 3.   This ordinance shall take effect at the earliest date provided by law.
