(A) Upon receipt of an application by the City Clerk, the application received shall be forwarded to the Community Development Department and examined for complete and accurate information, the submittal of all required documents and the applicable registration fee. The Director of Community and Economic Development or its designee shall have the authority to require the applicant to submit supplemental evidence to confirm the application information or respond to any objection to the issuance, renewal or reinstatement of the contractor’s registration. If the application is incomplete or inaccurate, if the application indicates that the applicant or the application is in compliance with the requirements of this chapter, if the application is not accompanied by all required documents or the applicable registration fee, the Director of Community and Economic Development or its designee shall notify the applicant in writing, stating the specific deficiencies that require correction. No registration shall be issued until the applicant is in compliance with the requirements of this chapter. If the Director of Community and Economic Development or his or her designee finds that the application received is complete and accurate, all required documents have been submitted and the applicable registration fee has been received by the city, the City Clerk or his or her designee shall issue the registration. Contractor registration applications shall be granted or denied by the City Clerk by written notice within 30 days of receipt of the required application accompanied by all required documents and the applicable registration fee.
(B) Each contractor registration issued shall bear the signature of the Mayor and of the City Clerk or a Deputy City Clerk.
(C) The City Clerk or his or her designee shall prepare and keep on file all application forms for contractor registrations and copies of all registrations issued.
(D) Applications, renewals and reinstatements shall be denied for failure to submit the required application documents, submitting false information or failure to pay the application, renewal or reinstatement fee.
