§ 120.03 CONTRACTOR REGISTRATION EXEMPTIONS.
   (A)   Resident property owners who either perform all of the work themselves or act as the general contractor contracting to have the work performed in constructing, altering, repairing, or demolishing the buildings, structures, utilities, site improvements or topography on property located in the city on which is located a detached single-family residence, which they own and on which they reside are exempt from the registration requirements of this chapter.
   (B)   The following trade contractors are exempt from the registration requirements of this chapter:
      (1)   Irrigation contractor (ILCS Ch. 225, Act 320, § 42);
      (2)   Locksmith (ILCS Ch. 225, Act 447, § 50-25);
      (3)   Private alarm contractor (ILCS Ch. 225, Act 447, § 50-25);
      (4)   Plumbing contractor (ILCS Ch. 225, Act 320, § 42);
      (5)   Registered interior designer (ILCS Ch. 225, Act 310, § 31);
      (6)   Water well contractor (ILCS Ch. 225, Act 345, § 29);
      (7)   Water well pump installation contractor (ILCS Ch. 225, Act 345, § 29);
      (8)   Water well and pump installation contractor (ILCS Ch. 225, Act 345, § 29); and
      (9)   Residential maintenance landscaper.
